About Us
Temple's Bone Marrow Transplantation (BMT) program, now in its 20th year of operation, offers both autologous (self), allogeneic (family donor) and unrelated allogeneic (unrelated donor) bone marrow/blood stem cell transplants for most hematologic malignancies, aplastic anemia, amyloidosis and selected solid tumors.
The program relocated to its Northeast Philadelphia campus at Jeanes Hospital, a Temple University Health System affiliate, in April of 2000 when Temple University Health System developed a formal affiliation with Fox Chase Cancer Center, adjacent to Jeanes Hospital.
The Program has performed over 1000 transplants ,including over 650 autologous and over 350 allogeneic (donor) transplants, averaging over 80 transplants per year. We are fully accredited by the Foundation for the Accreditation of Cellular Therapy (FACT) and the National Marrow Donor Program (NMDP) and actively participate in protocols from our own institutions, the Eastern Clinical Oncology Group (ECOG) and the Bone Marrow Clinical Trials Network (BMT-CTN). Full myeloablative and reduced intensity "mini" donor transplants are offered.
